The Phantoms’ Interpreter

This year I’ll be participating in National Novel Writing Month for the first time, and I’ll be using a story idea that I have not yet thoroughly developed (I’m totally using this as an excuse to play with unknowns, which is always a blast).

The Phantoms’ Interpreter

Author: “Tea and Ideas” (my NaNoWriMo name)

Genre: Fantasy

Synopsis:

“Josef Kant is assigned as liaison to a telepathic interpreter who is integral to opening a dialogue with the creatures clawing through from the realm next-door.”

Where Did This Story Idea Come From?

The concept came from three places. From three movies, actually. “District 9” (2009), “Pacific Rim” (2013), and “Spectral” (2016).

The Super-Vague Plan

I definitely want to write from an outline. While I have no problem dragging characters across a surrealistic backdrop in bizarre, and yet meaningful, encounters, I think I want something different and more focused for The Phantoms’ Interpreter.

Thank you, I too hope I do well. (Although, the more I think about it, a goal of 50,000 in one month seems bigger, but that just makes it more exciting. AH, why is November taking so long to get here?!!)

@Prep_tober sounds really helpful, thank you, I’ll check it out. (After reading much about other people’s past experience with NaNoWriMo, I think I need to take all the help I can get!!)
